RJ came to us from a shelter where he was an owner surrender. His elderly human could no longer care for him and had to give his beloved buddy away. RJ waited and waited for someone to adopt him. No one came. No one wanted him because at 6 years old in a shelter full of cute kittens, he was called “too old” by would-be adopters. After waiting for nearly two months, we saw RJ and knew that he deserved a chance at a forever home. RJ is gorgeous and very healthy. Six-years-old is not old for a cat. He acts very kitten-like with toys…especially feather or string type toys that are interactive. He does need time to settle in to a new environment. His initial reaction is to act very tough. He’s just scared, which is understandable since he’s had a lot of upheaval in his world. In about 24 hours, he settles in and realizes that he’s safe. We think his original owner was a man because RJ loves men so he’s more of a “guy’s guy.” Ideally, RJ would love a home with a nice guy to be his BFF!
