Mufasa is a very sweet, but initially very shy boy. He’s likely lived on his own for some time so he’s slow to trust and has a very reserved personality. Once he trusts you, he’s very affectionate. He discovered that he very much likes sleeping on beds and the all-you-can-eat buffet that comes with being someone’s kitty. He’s listed as a brown tabby, but has a ruddy-coloring to his coat. He’s really very beautiful!! He’s not a big cat, but is stocky. He’s fine with other cats. I’d suggest a home with older kids. I think really young ones/toddlers would frighten him. Mufasa is FIV positive. If you're not familiar with FIV, don't be scared about a cat with it. It stands for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. Veterinary medicine has learned a TON about the disease in recent years. It does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan, nor does it impact their quality of life. FIV+ cats may have above average dental disease, i.e. need dentals sooner or more often. It's not always a truism with every FIV+ cat. It's very important that FIV+ cats are taken for their annual vet visit, so they get a checkup and a dental check. Mufasa has excellent litterbox habits and very much likes his scratching posts/cat trees.
