Attention NTCR Community
We are temporarily closing intake for NON-NTCR cats. Our resources and space are limited. If your cat is not from NTCR, you can contact the shelter or rescue where you adopted them or explore other rehoming options.

For Those Surrendering NTCR Cats
Please do not abandon them or take to other shelters.
If you adopted your cat from NTCR and need to surrender them, please schedule an appointment with us (See link under the Adoption column). We may have a waiting list for openings in our foster homes, so your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our mission!

Tux and his brother, Edo, were rescued from the Amarillo shelter. Their time was nearly up at the shelter so it was a close call for these brothers. Tux is the more reserved one of the pair. He often watches his brother before joining in. He is shy in a new environment, but gets braver every day. Tux is looking for that special family who will see beyond his shyness and give him lots of love and time as he settles into a new home. He has already come a long way in his foster home in just a few weeks. The way to this young kitty's heart is definitely treats. He LOVES treats and cannot resist them. He will happily eat them from your hand. Besides treats, Tux also likes toys that dangle in front of him, crinkle tunnels to run through, cat trees to climb on, balls that go round and round in a track, and anything fuzzy. He hasn't met a toy he doesn't like yet. Tux spends much of his time roughhousing with his brother. Sometimes they sound like a herd of elephants running through the house. Tux has a very shiny black and white coat and round eyes. His foster mom says he looks like a tiny panther just before he pounces. Do you have a special place in your heart for Tux?
