Sweet Esme did a wonderful job of raising her babies but then found herself alone and ignored at the shelter.  She used her soulful eyes to convince a volunteer she was worth the extra time to network her and that's how she made it to our NTCR foster program.  She's a great girl who would probably do well in most homes.  In her current foster home there are a LOT of kittens which are not her most favorite creatures, so she generally stays by herself and observes them.  Her happiest times are when she can be alone with foster mom.  While not a lap-cat, she wants to be near mom and show her that she cares.  When mom goes to bed, Esme walks around the bed to make sure there are no monsters hiding under the bed and then jumps up on the bed for a quick back rub and chin scratch as a reward for her helpful services.  Esme eats ONLY dry food (not brand picky at all) but does appreciate a piece of your chicken every so often.  MMM.  Her litter box, scratching, and food manners a pretty much perfect making her a very low maintenance cat -- which leaves more time for playing with balls and the toys on a stick!  She will always find the highest spot in the house to rest (better to guard from) so a nice tall cat tree would be appreciated by this sweet girl.  Do you enjoy attention from a kitty and are you prepared to provide ear and chin scratches in return?  Then Esme is the girl for you!
