Reggie is a mild mannered, gentle giant. He is a BIG boy! He loves to play and is moderately active. H e loves other cats and spends his days playing or cuddling with the foster kittens or grooming and cuddling with the adult cats. He LOVES being scratched and petted. "Making biscuits" is one of his favorite past times. He's very snuggly and loves to sleep in bed with me (foster mom). He is very heavy (I cannot stress this enough) when he lays on you and makes biscuits. Reggie does purr, but sometimes he just makes happy grunting noises. He would be very unhappy in a home, alone all day. I'd recommend that he has a kitty companion in his forever home - especially one who will snuggle with him. He LOVES catnip toys so those are a necessary item in his forever home. He loves wet food too, which is a fast way to his heart! He’s got excellent litter box manners and is good with cat trees and scratchers. He's had some dermatitis (skin issues) that seem to be a result of certain foods and/or seasonal. He's on a (non-prescription) skin and coat food now and is doing great; however, he does get flare ups and will need to see the vet for a steroid shot.

Reggie is also FIV positive. If you’re not familiar with FIV, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. It does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan nor does it impact their quality of life. FIV+ cats may have above average dental disease, i.e. need dentals sooner or more often, but that is not always the case with every FIV+ cat. It's really important that when FIV+ cats are taken for yearly check-ups at the vet, their teeth are also checked. If you’re interested in being Reggie’s forever home, please submit an application.
