Meet Thomas!! If you're looking for the most chill, cuddliest lap cat ever, then Thomas might be your purrfect match! Thomas is available for adoption or forever fostering through NTCR. He is FIV+, which isn't a big deal and doesn't affect his lifespan. He is also positive for Feline Leukemia (FeLv). There are no medications to give him, but his forever home needs to be aware that annual veterinary check ups are a MUST and if he shows signs of illness, he needs to get to a vet ASAP as he will take longer to kick an illness. As an FeLv cat, he needs to either be an only cat or in a home with another FeLv cat. The disease is not transmittable to other species, but is spread cat-to-cat via saliva...usually through mutual grooming.  If you adopt him, NTCR will pay for Thomas medical needs related to FeLv for the remainder of his life at one of our vets offices. If you would like to be his forever foster, NTCR will pay for any/all of Thomas' vetting for the remainder of his life at one of our vet offices. People hesitate to adopt FeLv cats as they may not live 15-20 years, but there's no way of knowing how long his lifespan will be. He is young and healthy, and with a clean environment, loving home, good food, and regular veterinary check-ups, he could live many more happy, healthy years. I know FeLv cats that did live to be 16 and 21 years old. If you would like to be Thomas' forever home, please contact NTCR and they will put you in touch with me (his foster mom.)
