Attention NTCR Community
We are temporarily closing intake for NON-NTCR cats. Our resources and space are limited. If your cat is not from NTCR, you can contact the shelter or rescue where you adopted them or explore other rehoming options.

For Those Surrendering NTCR Cats
Please do not abandon them or take to other shelters.
If you adopted your cat from NTCR and need to surrender them, please schedule an appointment with us (See link under the Adoption column). We may have a waiting list for openings in our foster homes, so your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for understanding and supporting our mission!

Hello, my name is Acorn! I am healing from an abdominal injury that North Texas Cat Rescue helped me recover from.  Even with my injury I am a very sweet cat that loves human attention.  I enjoy playing with toys, wires, or anything I can find in the house! I even love playing with humans, and am very good about not using my claws (I know it's just playtime!). While I'm not much of a lap kitty, I love to be right next to my foster mom, just to make sure everything is going okay. I also enjoy being picked up and given a big hug, especially when my foster Mom comes home after leaving me all day! I can be very talkative, and would do well in any place where I can chat with people. While I am very friendly with people, I have a bit of a dominant personality when interacting with other pets (cats and dogs), I would do best in a home without other pets.
