This lovely lady is Sammi. She was born with only three full legs; one of the rear legs only developed down to the "knee" area- no foot. She can still get around just fine and even leap to the bed, bathtub, or window ledges. Her condition doesn't require any special medical attention, and the vet says she is not in any pain. Sammi was left at the shelter by her person when they were moving, and she was quite afraid, but has made great social progress in foster care. She loves chin rubs, playing with cat toys, and being given treats. Sammi will "talk" to you when she wants a treat or some love. Her sweet goofy side really comes out :-) If you scratch just the right spot, she will kick her rear flipper leg just like a dog does. Sammi would do best in a quiet home with adults, older children or teens, and no other cats. She is very protective of "her" human attention and chases off other cats. **Update*** Sammi has been accepting of a small kitten introduced into her space. She hisses and takes soft swats, but purrs and loves on him and is quite tolerant of sharing humans, food, and her litter box. :-) There are dogs in her foster home, and she has done fine with them after an introduction period. Sammi can be a great companion to someone who has patience and wants a soft, fluffy, devoted pet. She get stressed and hides at adoption events, but is really worth a look.
