We are sorry to say that our foster homes are filled to the rafters. Unless your cat was adopted from NTCR, we cannot accept any more cats or kittens until space opens up.

Heather Smith is one of our fosters who speciallizes in kittens. Kittens, especially those just born require extreme  care and many hours watching over them.
Canaan is one of the fourtunate babies to fall into her hands at the age of six weeks. Poor little guy severe URIs that ended with the enucleation of his left eye, but Heather saw the beauty in him. At six months he only weighed 3.5 pounds and was diagnosed with feline infectious peritonitis that required expensive medication and dedicated care. Survival rate for FIP is low.

Canaan5-HSM-Sept2025 This is how I was found. I didn't even have a name. I definitely needed some sprucing up.
Canaan1-HSM-Sept2025     I was struggling but I was mighty. The vet gave me something for my eye. Evidently my mom was not too healthy and I wasn't born in the best of locations. It seems like I was a magnet for germs and viruses.
Canaan3-HSM-Sept2025 I was cleaned up and started medications and eye treatments. I just kept getting sicker.
Canaan2-HSM-Sept2025 So now my eye is gone and just when I'm feeling so much better, I was diagnosed with FIP. No pictures of me during those days. I was a mess. Those were rough shots, but my foster was determined that I was going to live and she is mightier than even me.  I was cured before my first birthday.
Canaan4-HSM-Sept2025 So here I am today. Happlily adopted, and I have a brother named Hank. Life just doesn't get any better!
